Sun-dried brick for Kargyak
Project of building The Sun School for Kargyak in Indian Himalayas – Civic Association Surya
You may contribute to Sun School Project through a symbolic purchase of one or more sun-dried bricks. They are made in the vicinity of Kargyak village, where the school is to be built. They are then transported on yaks and horses to the construction site. The bricks are 20x20x40 cm and each one weighs about 25 kg when it is sun-dried. A horse can carry four bricks, a yak can carry up to six of them. The technology of brick production comes from the traditional methods, the bricks were made by Surya volunteers on site last year. Up to 3700 bricks are needed for the construction of the school. If you want to contribute and purchase one more more bricks, one costs 300,- Kč. Each donor who provides a postal address will be sent a certificate and instructions on how to make a brick.
